These pressures combined with the increased awareness of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are driving the search for: I) suitable alternate sources of energy and new technologies; II) suitable incentives and legislations for developers and investors in order to invest in new energy technologies III) ways to change social behavior related to energy use. The above is no exception for the development of the Suez Canal region. Building the basis for a sustainable economy in this region is essential to its success and further future developments. One of the major drivers for a sustainable economy in the Suez Canal region would very much depends on the ability of the developers to have access to low cost energy, Renewable Energy sources, energy conversation technologies as well as incentives for energy conservation.
