One of the things I loved about my dad was the way he related to children.<\/p>\n

When we would meet new people,<\/p>\n

Dad always made it a big deal to talk to the kids.<\/p>\n

One of the things he did was he would say, “I know your name – your name is George.”<\/p>\n

Of course, the young child would try and correct him and he would just keep calling them George.<\/p>\n

They caught on really fast that he was teasing them and they would just hang around him, wanting the special attention.<\/p>\n

Don’t we all want special attention? This is what family is all about – giving special attention to those we love. Another question for you – aren’t we all family?<\/p>\n

Dad lived his life believing that everyone is family, and it’s something I try to do as well.<\/p>\n

I am writing this email from Papua New Guinea and I can tell you that half-<\/p>\n

way around the world I am surrounded by the most beautiful family members.<\/p>\n

I am also glad to tell you that I have met many children here – and they are all named George!<\/p>\n
